Hot Rod Jam Show
July 3, 2004
Car Show Summary
Uncle Sam's Hot Rod Jam was held on July 3rd at Six Flags Over Georgia again this year as a continued celebration of the 4th of July weekend in conjunction with Salute To America! As was the case with 2003, mother nature did not smile on this event again in 2004 and the deluge came all morning long. The afternoon was fair weather but the damage was already done with the crowd being reduced, as the forecast, for the day was grim. In spite of the weather we managed to have around a 100 entries for the show and the quality was second to none. The large cash purse of $2,500 brought out the cream and with Koto (king of the oldies) doing the honors at the Rock and Roll, a good time was had by all. The live entertainment took us all back to the 50's and the one of a kind awards were all second to none. Our many thanks to the Six Flags Over Georgia staff under the watchful eye of Melinda Ashcraft, GM and her appearance at the awards ceremony to present the Six Flags Award to our recipient. We thank all who challenged the elements and attended the 2004 USHRJ and their continued support of all who assist us in our attempt to raise funds for needy local charities.
